    Bale processor to improve feed efficiency and consistency at Pioneer Farm and provide teaching and outreach opportunities

    Steiner’s project will use a new bale processor to improve feed efficiency and consistency of forage for dairy livestock and Pioneer Farm at UW–Platteville. Feed bales will be able to be pre-processed with a thoroughly-mixed ration and more consistent forage particle size.

    Steiner is serving as interim Dean for the College of Business Industry Life Science and Agriculture (BILSA) at UW–Platteville during the 2022-2023 academic year. He previously served as Director of Pioneer Farm and Assistant Dean for the College of BILSA. His research interests include experiential education, agricultural entrepreneurship, and the scholarship of teaching and learning in agribusiness.
