Cold season hydrology and frozen soils laboratory capacity building

    Funding Year:
    Campus:

Thompson’s project aims to improve existing facilities at UW–Madison to conduct research related to frozen soils and wintertime nutrient loss. The new equipment will enhance the capacity to create controlled environments and measure complex frozen soil physical properties that affect runoff.

    PI: Anita Thompson

Thompson is a professor of biological systems engineering and chair of the Nelson Institute’s Water Resources Management Program at UW–Madison. Her research interests include hydrologic implications of land use change and water quality impacts of biofuel crop production.
