Maki is an assistant professor of horticulture at UW–River Falls. Her research interests relate to developmental and hormonal processes in plants, with emphasis on the genetics of inflorescence architecture as it applies to ornamental, agronomic and model plant systems.
Maki’s project will use a real-time PCR machine to carry out experiments where quantitative measurement of gene expression is required. This machine would enhance the capacity to carry out quantitative gene expression experiments through individual and collaborative faculty research, URSCA projects, in-class laboratory experiments, and independent study projects.
