The Dairy Innovation Hub, a partnership funded by the state of Wisconsin between UW-Madison, UW-Platteville and UW-River Falls, harnesses university research and development to keep Wisconsin’s $45.6 billion dairy industry at the global forefront in producing nutritious dairy products in an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable manner.

The Hub has four primary areas of focus:

    • Stewarding land and water resources
    • Enriching human health and nutrition
    • Ensuring animal health and welfare
    • Growing farm businesses and communities

Launched in the fall of 2019, the three deans of the colleges of agriculture direct the activities of the Hub. Faculty Director Heather White (associate professor of dairy science, UW-Madison) and a program coordinator manage the projects conducted across the state.

An advisory council comprised of faculty at each of the three campuses and industry members appointed by dairy groups meets regularly to consult on progress of Hub projects.
