The Dairy Innovation Hub will host an informational research poster session at the State Capitol to highlight select projects funded by the initiative at UW-Madison, UW-Platteville and UW-River Falls.
Attendees are invited to browse 10 research posters and engage with students and faculty affiliated with Hub-funded projects. Legislators, staff and the public are encouraged to participate.
The event will take place on the first-floor rotunda from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18. On the same day, a group of farmers and dairy professionals will be in the building for legislative discussions and visits as part of Dairy Day at the Capitol.
The Dairy Innovation Hub, funded through a $7.8 million per year investment by the state of Wisconsin, harnesses research and development at UW–Madison, UW–Platteville and UW–River Falls campuses to keep Wisconsin’s $45.6 billion dairy community at the global forefront in producing nutritious dairy foods in an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable manner. Since its launch in 2019, the Hub has funded more than 100 projects across the three campuses.
In addition to the informational poster session…
Dr. Heather White, faculty director for the Dairy Innovation Hub, will give a program overview, progress update and answer questions during the discussion portion of Dairy Day at the Capitol, coordinated by Dairy Business Association. Dr. White will share real-life examples of research funded by the Dairy Innovation Hub to benefit farmers, dairy processors, and the people of Wisconsin.
