The UW–Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is accepting proposals for postdoctoral research fellows to work on innovative and impactful dairy-related research that will fit within at least one of the four priority areas of the Hub:
- Enrich Human Health and Nutrition
- Ensure Animal health and Welfare
- Grow Farm Businesses and Communities
- Steward Land and Water Resources
The goal is to both attract top prospective graduate students to UW–Madison and fund novel research projects that will benefit Wisconsin’s dairy industry. Research of both applied and basic nature will be considered with emphasis on scientific merit, novelty of approach, and innovation.
Proposals are due September 30, 2021 via WISPR. Award decisions will be announced by the end of December 2021. Funding will be available beginning July 1, 2022 with the anticipation that postdoctoral fellows will start on or shortly after July 1, 2022.
The Dairy Innovation Hub, which launched in 2019, is a $7.8 million annual investment by the State of Wisconsin to build a world-class talent pool and enable bold discoveries to ensure that Wisconsin’s dairy community is at the global forefront in producing nutritious dairy products in an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable manner.
